Ashley Masteller has had an outstanding four years with the Lady Eagles Golf program. In fact, she was a part of the program well before playing for the team. Masteller became a manager for the lady eagles beginning in the sixth grade. She wanted to know the ins and outs of the team and expand her love for golf. She was eager to be an official member of the team. But unbeknownst to Masteller, she didn’t know how much of a pivotal role she would play for the golf program.
Masteller had a huge success during her four years playing for the golf program. In fact, she made All-Conference all four years. Her senior year, she made history by being the first Girl’s WIC Golf Champion. She helped lead her team to compete in Regionals for the first time ever, again making history. “My dad took me to play golf for the first time when I was six years old. That’s when I fell in love with the game,” Masteller said
With all her successes, colleges were begging her to come to play for them. Masteller officially committed to Indiana University East. When Masteller posted about her signing she said, “Thank you, everyone, that has supported me and helped me along the way.” She is so thankful for her coaches and all the support they have given her. Dr. Laura Hammock also posted about the signing and said, “We hate to think of not seeing Ashley around BCHS next year, but we couldn’t be more happier for her. IU-East is getting a great one.”
