The Lady Eagles grab their seventh win on the season with a 50-45 homecoming win over the Trinity Lutheran Cougars.
The Cougars, hot coming off a three-game winning streak, looked like nobody could stop them, but the Lady Eagles did not want to let the homecoming crowd down.
Allison Stogsdill and Gracie Matlock led the Lady Eagles in scoring. Stogsdill poured in 22 on the night with nineteen coming in the first half. Matlock put up eight points along with five rebounds. Piper Boyer led the Lady Eagles with a personal season-high six rebounds.
The Cougars, despite the loss out-hustled the Lady Eagles on the boards out-rebounding the Ladies the 43- 22 the Cougars had the edge on the glass. The Cougars also had a couple of scoring threats, Senior Savannah Harweger and Sophomore Sydney Jaynes each recorded a double-double. Harweger led the Cougars in scoring with 18points along with ten rebounds. Jaynes was tough for the Lady Eagles to stop. The 6’3″ sophomore put up fifteen points and a game-leading twelve rebounds.
The Lady Eagles hope to continue to a three-game win streak and improve to 8-10 on the season as they face Jennings County.
