The Brown County girls golf team improves their regular season record to 4-2 with a 206-233 non-conference win over Southwestern High School.
For the Lady Eagles, they finished with the second-lowest score of the season with 206. This is a huge improvement from their season opener finishing with 227. The Lady Eagles also had the four lowest scorers with Stogsdill (53), Winton (53), Hollander (51), and the medalist of the team and the match, Taylor Poling (49). This outing was the second time in her high school career that she finished with a score below 50. When asked about her performance, Poling stated, “I stayed focused and did what I know how to do.” Poling followed up by saying, “I just had fun with it”.
The Spartans from Southwestern were not as impressive as the Lady Eagles in the match-up. The Spartans finished with 233. Maggie Correll was the medalist for Southwestern, who finished with a 56. The rest of the team’s top four finished with 57, 59, and 61.
The Lady Eagles will use this momentum as they head to Tameka Woods Golf Course to face conference opponent Indian Creek for the second time this season. The Lady Eagles came out victorious in their last meet up in the season opener.
