Flash flooding damages BCHS track, Wellness Center

Recent heavy rains overflowed creek banks and damaged the Brown County High School track and field area and closed down the Brown County Health and Wellness Center when the basement flooded.

Brown County Schools Superintendent Dr. Laura Hammack made the announcement via e-mail only a short time after inviting families to the track for exercise and fresh air. Heavy rains now have closed the track while workers make efforts to clear it.

“We sustained damage to the track and

we took in a lot of water in the basement of the Brown County Health and Wellness Center,” Dr. Hammack said.
