The BCHS Tennis Team takes a big win on senior night

Senior Aidan Burt, escorted by his father, gets introduced on senior night

The Eagles bounced back from a 2-3 loss to Indian Creek with a senior night 4-1 win against the Hauser Jets.

The lineup on senior night was a little different. Senior, Aidan Burt, kicked off the night with the first win 6-1, 6-0 against Caleb Wallace, though Burt does not typically play singles. Other seniors Spencer Blee and his doubles partner Noah Cochran defeated Caleb Hoover and Levi Gollmer 4-6, 6-4 with a 10-8 competitive tie breaker. The Eagles other senior doubles team Nolan Patterson and Reid Davis went against Dawson Paul and Hagan Weedersatz, and absolutely crushed their competitors with a 6-0, 6-1 flawless game. “The unlikely duo of Patterson and Davis didn’t miss a beat as they cruised to an easy victory,” Coach Roush stated as he was shocked with the power and compassion the power duo was putting in.

Juniors Josh Miller and Austen Deckard completed the varsity line up with the same excellent energy. Josh went against Eli Miller and defeated him in an almost perfect 6-1, 6-0 match. Deckard went against Carson Rose and took a close loss of 1-6, 6-4, 0-1, but forced the match into a competitive 11-13 tie breaker. Coach Roush stated, “He was a couple of shots just missed or he would have completed his comeback.”

The junior varsity team got to play another match tonight. Jack Sichting moved right through his match with a defeat of 6-0. The rest of the JV team didn’t have as much luck as Sichting with a loss of 2-6. The Brown County Eagles hope to still get first place in Western Indiana Conference (WIC) with a potential win over the Northview Knights on Saturday August 22nd.
