This year there are 5 candidates running for the school board. Linda Hobbs, Amy Huffman Oliver, Lance L Miller, Stephanie Porter Kritzer, Marlene L Barnette are the candidates running for the school board. Linda Hobbs is a business owner with experience on the Brown County school board from 1986 to 1994. She has said that she has “ a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the history and unique circumstances facing our school
Stephanie Porter Kritzer has been a parent of 36 years and began her career in education working at a daycare. She worked the next 17 years as a paraprofessional as says “during my time there I was able to gain a unique insight into students and teachers.
Lance L. Miller spent 2000-2019 as the visual arts director where he taught photography, painting, drawing, design, sculpture, and ceramics. He states “ I also have experienced a parent’s view having graduated two kids from BCS. I feel that two decades in the BCS system, under numerous administrations (local and state), with a variety of procedures/budgets/restrictions, has given me a unique perspective on Brown County’s culture and potential future.”
Mrs. Oliver stressed the importance of her having three different perspectives. The perspective of a teacher, perspective of a parent, and the perspective of an attorney which she says could be useful as a part of the school board.
